Recently purchased by Harvard, the posh rooms of the Doubletree Guest Suites may one day be home to members of some lucky future class. Straddling Boston and Cambridge, the hotel is conveniently located on the Charles and provides complimentary shuttle service to both downtown Boston and Harvard Square. The standard room has a small living room with a queen sleeper, while suites are outfitted with a king-size bed or 2 twin beds, sleeping up to 4 adults ($10/person surcharge over double occupancy) or 2 adults with 3 children (kids under 18 free). Daily rate ranges from $130 low season to $300 high season. Prices vary according to suite size; premium suites will set you back about $20 more than a standard room. The full-service Doubletree also features an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, fitness room, restaurant (the quality Boathouse Grill), high-speed internet access, and one of Boston's finest jazz clubs, Scullers.
