Gitlo's is a dim sum place in Allston devoid of the Chinatown bustle of carts, and with cuisine far better than any of those establishments. It is more of a cooking focused restaurant that's said to impress dim sum snobs; the restaurant prides itself on homemade dishes from scratch. The chef - a cousin of the owner - worked in a Hong Kong dim sum kitchen for 8 years before relocating to Boston, and his flawless technique shows in his handmade shumai, daikon cakes, and Cantonese dumplings.

This small restaurant hosts lip smacking Indo-Chinese food. Except for the small place this restaurant excels in its typical indo-chinese cuisines. Though I haven't tasted its Indian food but I can always bet on its chinese dishes.

Tasty fusion (southeast asian and indian) and also a straightforward indian menu. Not too pricey. Replaces a bland pizza/kebab joint. New lunch buffet on Saturday and Sunday.

This Taiwanese restaurant in Allston won't let pork lovers down. The large menu of traditional and fusion Taiwanese and Szechuan dishes is replete with pork intestines and kidneys. For less adventurous Allstonians fried and steamed dumplings are available. Fried ice cream is available for desert. The stinky tofu allegedly really does stink.

Wang is brilliant and I recommend you go to him to get a diagnosis. He does this just by looking at your tongue and taking your pulse. One of the busier vegan restaurants in town, Grasshopper can sometimes get crowded, but the wait is never long. Sunday a month they offer an all-you-can-eat brunch. Popular selections off the rather large menu include the No Name, Sweet and Sour Sensation, and the Cheesecake!
