Enjoy the 3 Ps of college nightlife—pool, pizza, and pitchers—at this friendly pool hall and bar. Its a great place to start a night, either catching the big game on the plasma screens (Su-Th $4/hr before 6pm, $10/hr after 6pm; F-Sa $6/12)or starting some action of your own in one of the two full ballrooms of 21 champion-sized pool tables, which offer both the amateur and the shark a comfortable environment. $20 gets you an hour of pool, a 1-topping pie and a beer of your choice. You'll need to have your game face on to attack the incredible number of draft beer choices at the bar, which can wash down the extensive pub menu (appetizers $4.25-7.50, sandwiches $5.50-7) served until 1am. Craving a pick-me-up that's not coffee? Looking for a sweet something to tide you over until after class? Or perhaps you've just visited Yi Soon and need a tasty drink to accompany your scrumptious pastry? Good, then you're at the right place. Infusions is a lovely little tea shop that carries truly fresh tea drinks that are perfectly flavored and never too sweet. The large tapioca in the bubble teas is chewy without being rubbery, and there are dozens of flavors to choose from. For those who have a craving for a Nathan’s hot dog but can’t make it to Coney Island, Spike’s Junkyard Dogs is the next best thing. At Spike’s, it’s all about the toppings—with a separate table dedicated to everything from Sauerkraut to relish to various types of mustards. Each concoction has a clever dog-themed name—everything from the Junkyard Dog to The Mutt (a plain dog on a roll) Non-meat eaters rave about their veggie hot dogs. And fry enthusiasts love their curly Poodle fries topped with cheese.
Super cheap and really filling. The buffalo dogs and grinder dogs can't be beat!! Worth every gut busting calorie that's in these things. Also, if you aren't that tough and want "hot" ask for Buffalo and not "hot" sauce (You'll get the Spike's "freakin hot" sauce).
-Buns-toasty and amazing. they don't get soggy and encompass the entire hot dog for maximum bunnery
-Hot dog (meat)-not overly spiced, so you're not burping up hot dog breath for the next 15 hours
-Hot dog (veggie)-flavorful and filling. You won't miss meat (if you do) and if you don't miss meat, then you'll just feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
-The service is awesome. I mean, how could you NOT be happy slinging hot dogs all day, but these dudes are funny and hilarious

With over 112 beers on tap, this “University of Beer” could offer you a new brew every night of senior spring and still have more than 300 bottled varieties left over. Believe it or not, however, pints, yards, and table taps are not the only reasons that serious scholars of beer matriculate here: unlike at many other bars, the food is actually good. Old-fashioned favorites like huge burgers ($5), BBQ ribs ($15), and nachos ($6-10) help fortify your stomach against the onslaught. If you feel like shaking things up, try a “beertail” like the “Dirty Ho”—half Lindemann's Framboise and half Hoegaarden ($6)—or “Black Magic”—a mix of Magic Hat #9 and Guinness ($5). A full menu until 1am will satisfy any late night craving. Entrees $5-20.

I would say the only downsides are that they close fairly early and that parking is tough to come by on weekends. But the hike is worth it if you are looking for a place with good beer, good people, and a great atmosphere. Check out the complimentary "midnight madness" buffet on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights, midnight to 1am.

Billed as a family thrift store, the cramped Urban Renewals in Allston organizes its piles of children's clothing, men's sports jackets and women's apparel by color. If you have the time to sift through the heaps of second-hand clothes, books and home goods, you’ll eventually stumble on a diamond in a rough. Happy hunting!
